About Us

30 years ago, John Wilson began importing clothing directly from a small factory in Marrakesh, Morocco to supply his clothing store in Washington, D.C. Soon enough he began selling wholesale, directly to stores around the country. In 1994 we closed our stores, and moved exclusively to wholesale.

In 2006 we moved from D.C. to the small mountain farming community of Floyd, VA. We still work with Halima, the Moroccan factory—still small, still unique in its humane treatment of its workers. Nomad is now run by John’s daughter, Cassie, and Halima is now run by Abdoullahed’s daughter Halima, both with their own kids in tow. Perhaps we will be lucky enough to hand our businesses on to the next generation!
